Consider Yourselves Warned

Just a few slight revisions.

And a finished box design.

And then these Filthy Little Plotters of Ruin can be yours.

Oh. Right.

I dunno at this point, because certain revisions and engineering issues cost SLG extra. I am guessing $65 - $75, but that's not a quote. It could be a bit higher, shipping all of these from China is going to be a real killer. But I know Dan is working hard to keep the price point as low as possible without slitting his own throat too badly.

Milk is almost 7" and Cheese is a little under 6". And here you can see the nail and the stick it goes into, which we haven't had pictures of before. You can use it to kill your weaker vinyl figures, which is all of them except Booska and maybe Eric So's Hot Boy.

Re: revisions, the gin bottle label was botched at the factory, it doesn't match Sarah's specs or my design, so that's being fixed. And Milk and Cheese's "holding hands" need to be swapped so they can stand next to one another, weapons held on either side, like in the comic books they used to appear in. We also had some engineering issues addressed, which, while cool, may affect the final cost on these little bastards.

These aren't going to be cheap, I'm afraid, but considering you're getting the set for the price of one high-end "urban vinyl" (and less than a lot of variants), and they're coming with three accessories, and SLG's probably losing their shirts on this, I think it'll be pretty reasonable as far as these kinds of collectibles go.

SLG is hoping, if things go well in the next couple of weeks (meaning, I get the box design done asap), to have some of these available for SDCC. Fingers crossed.

You know what?

Charge whatever you have to. I'll buy one regardless. If paying a little too much for one of these helps keep you and yours going, and SLG flush, I'm in.

I love the direction SLG's going. I love the Eyemelt site. I love Rex Libris. Heck, it's the only comic my wife will read, and I even bought her a Rex Libris statue that sits proudly on her desk.

(And if you ever decided to, oh, create a comprehensive trade for the Milk and Cheese comics, I'll buy that too. Heck, go crazy and make it an oversized hardcover. Where do I send my money?)

We could always charge you a grand, and everyone else the regular cost. I mean, if you're still insane that day. Let me know how you're feeling then.

Anyway. Don't worry about me. I got involved with this to have a set of toys for myself. Dan/SLG is sticking his/their neck out on these, they're not cheap to produce, ship, store. I just want SLG to break even on these, if not make something for their considerable trouble. It's been a real small nightmare, this is the second attempt, the first was a Hindenburg fiasco, which had to be paid for, and there have been several obstacles on this course. There's only going to be a thousand of these, and I think they'll come out nicely, so, fingers crossed.

Re: a M&C hardcover. I hope, one day, to collect everything in a monster edition you could kill a child with with only a few blows. 1-8, strips that never got into the comics or first trade, merch art and photos, t-shirt art, covers, pin-ups, flyers, bullshit. Maybe some fan mail and fan art, tattoos people have gotten. Senseless Hollywood inquiries. I'd love to have a fold-out of all the trading cards/card backs.

It will probably never happen. I still have to finish the strips for #8 and then release a second collection of 5-8 and the mini-comic no one bought. Ten years in the non-making.The early stuff is in horrible shape and we'd need to clean and fix it all to warrant being in a deluxe edition. I dunno how well a hardcover would do, whether there's enough of an audience or not, and I can't afford a time-sucking project of that magnitude anytime soon. I couldn't art direct it, we'd have to hire someone.

I've never done a hardcover, for the sole reason that I don't believe anything I've done, so far, merits the treatment. Maybe Eltingville would, I wonder. A complete, stupid-packed M&C book might be worth trying, someday. I think about it, that's for sure. But I'm a comic book and paperback creator, ,and gutless to boot. Who knows. Maybe someday. Dumber things have happened.

Man, I know you get in the box and all but... putting out a hard cover collected M & C would be super kick ass. If you don't believe then make it a limited edition: 500 and see what kind of response you get because I know you'll sell those out.

I'm down for 1 easy.

also in for the figures and that is a done deal.

What do Milk and Cheese sound like in your head when you write for them? The squinty eyes make me think of Gilbert Gottfried, but that's probably just me.

I don't "hear" their voices when I'm working on a strip. No one with a recognizable cartoon voice would work for me, personally, if I was casting them. Definitely not Gilbert Gottfried.

I tend to imagine a deeper voice of the older brother from 'Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends'. But dat's jus' me. I can see people imagining Gilbert Gottfried for Milk, but not for Cheese. Cheese should age well. [bu-dum-ching]

I've turned down something like ten inquiries. I'm just counting 'serious" ones, from legit studios or production companies. There were a lot of offers from animators wanting to leave their studio and go independent. "their" first film or project would have been "my" characters, which they would write and fuck up ten ways to Tuesday.

The character's barely support a four-page strip, forget an entire movie.

The phone calls dried up about ten, eleven years ago for the most part. Out of sight, off of studio reader's desks. I'm more than okay with that.
