Waiting For Ink To Dry, And Other Typing

While waiting for ink to dry, I sometimes draw junk like this:

M&C Box design: Done. I think we did a solid job on it. Hopefully we'll hear about a delivery date for the figure set within the next few weeks. But who knows.

We've been kept busy the past week or so doing artwork for a show segment. Proposed segment. It's an extension of the production art and character design we worked on recently did for a production, the Network nixed the segment and the producers are trying to rework it as an animated piece. Sarah and I provided a rough animatic storyboard last week and are now finishing up a fairly breakneck series of drawings for the piece. backgrounds, characters, poses, blah blah blah. After our Father's Day outing with family we headed home and I ended up working until about 10:30 in the morning. Woke up, worked a little, got dizzy and sick, fell asleep, got up at midnight, back to the board. Waiting for ink to dry, decided to take a break. Should be done within the hour. If the segment is approved we may end up doing more. We shall see.

Probably going to take a semi-rest/day off tomorrow (well, later today) and detox. Hopped up big-time on Coca-Cola and Krispy Kreme again to pull off the marathon. Feel lousy, especially as I've been really good at kicking the Coke habit the past few weeks. Desperate times call for junk food. Or something of that order. I am weak.

Getting ready for MOCCA, which is this weekend. Always a good time. Have to admit there's nobody I'm excited to meet or see at a distance this year, don't see any killer app(earance) this time around as with the previous years. Still, looking forward to the event. We'll have nothing new to sell, unfortunately, as Biff Bam Pow dragged on and won't be done until this week, most likely. We'll have the most recent set of M&C prototypes to show off, Dork #11 in case anyone missed it, maybe some old merch as I'm cleaning up the basement. Might haul some M&C  lunchboxes and magnet sets or what have you, we shall see. I might have copies of I Love You, Beth Cooper and a couple of the DHC horror anthologies. A few copies of the Bongo comics work Sarah and I have written semi-recently. Art for sale, and as usual, the messy pile of layouts, roughs and doodles, starting at fifty cents a pop or so.

Ink must be dry by now. Over and out.

I second that, that's a really damn good idea! I've been drinking, so I can't think of anything else to say.

It's like that bit in the titles for the TV Hulk, but neither of them are 'David' Banner.

Do you ever come out to the Bay Area? Surely your SLG masters ship you out to stuff 'round here once in a while...

I haven't been in that area in many years, no plans to be back anytime soon. We haven't done a show outside NYC in about four years now. No time.

I can't find my friggin' Fight Man that I want you to sign. Meh, it's a well loved copy anyway that's all wrinkled anyway. Maybe there'll be some back issue vendor there.

Get some rest, man.

MOCCA doesn't have traditional dealer tables, publishers and creators only.

I know the Jim Hanley's Universe location on Staten Island has copies of Fight Man in the little "Evan Dorkin" section. The Manhattan shop might have copies, they can probably have copies sent over if you ask. Just saying. I think I'm out of extras myself.

Is the "Cheese" side of your new creation here green?

And, on that same theme, does he have the combined attributes of all the "Hectic Planet" gang (for all the good THAT would do him)?

Composite M&C is so great. I miss absolutely insane things like Composite Superman. Mostly, I love describing him.

"He does exactly what it says on the tin, Composite Superman. He's half Superman, half Batman. Literally. Supes on the left, Bats on the right. And he's got all the Legion's powers.

Oh, and his skin is green.
"

I'm not sure how one would describe Composite Milk and Cheese.

"He's half Milk and half Cheese. Which I suppose Milk would already have been if he's dairy gone bad. But that's over thinking it, really."

Oooh Krispy Kremes, yummy! Thanks to hypoglycemia, anymore than one and i'm in a coma...

I really love the composite sketch. How about a strip where they form together, doubling their hate powers to take down an archenemy the likes of which they've never seen. Sorry, I watched way too much Voltron and Transformers as a kid...

Quick question, i'm not sure if it's been asked but on the back of the Milk figure is it going to have the "Lost Milk/Klim" bit from the comics?
