Heeb: How To Cook A Gentile
Heeb #16 ("the Goy issue"), is now on their website, which is where you can read our one-page contribution, a family-friendly little comic strip entitled, "How to Cook a Gentile".

If you don't know what a Gentile is, well, then you're probably a Gentile. Or very stupid.

The entire strip has been posted to the site (just click on the above link to get there), so there's something free for you from the notoriously penny-clenching Jewish community. Oy, Gevalt! Will miracles never cease?

And FYI, the full and complete and collectible print edition of Heeb #16 ships in a week or so.

Shalom!

I'd heard the word "gentile" in an Atom and His Package song a while back and didn't give much thought to it. Still didn't understand it meant anything until I started watching Curb Your Enthusiasm years later and Larry David says it about thirty times per episode. I'm still unclear as to whether it refers to anyone who isn't Jewish or specifically Christians/Catholics/etc.

Top-notch art either way. Huzzah!

I've been unsure if gentile is any non Jew, including Mexicans, Indians(either kind),Africans,Japanese, pacific islanders,ect..
or just Christians Americans and European white types.

The toughest part about preparing a gentile is that you first gotta wash the grape jelly stains out of our underwear.

Egads. Seconded on the german in an oven!
Hey, how come the site only credits you? At least Sarah's name is on the strip.

They're fixing that, if all goes well. The colors certainly kick that cannibalism up a notch, eh?

Oh, if my viciously Catholic grandmother ever discovers that not only did I get all of the references, but that I was laughing myself sick, over that strip, she's going straight back to Hell. Once again, all I can say is "I wanna be just like Evan Dorkin when I finally grow up."

Oh, by the way, I know I was saying this for a bit, but your Prehistoric Scenes Tyrannosaurus model is going out in the mail to you tomorrow. I've just needed a big enough box to ship it. It's one of the 1987 Monogram issues, but at least you'll have a tyrannosaur to go with the other models.

So...I have a quick question. Considering the shiksa gag, what exactly does a goy guy who's dating a Jewish girl get called? I ask because my wife doesn't know, and she figures that I need a new nickname at family functions.

apropos of nothing but - is that art in your icon from a pop-up book available in the early 80s? because i'd swear on a stack of bibles (or torahs, keeping it themely) that i had it as a kid.

Well, it wasn't exactly a popup book: It's from a 1959 book called Dinosaurs and Other Prehistoric Reptiles, published by Golden Books and kept in perpetual reprint for years. While it's inaccurate as all hell, scientifically speaking</i>, the paintings inside were made by Rudolph Zallinger (the genius behind the famed mural Age of Reptiles at the Peabody Museum at Yale), and those paintings are absolutely stunning.

as a gentile marrying a nice jewish girl, i am suitably terrified and amused (not least of which because i recognized about half of the terms in the strip. uh oh - i'm clearly becoming something other than a redneck...)

on a completely unrelated note, CN/AS/WS/Turner/whoever calls the shots these days has finally started shipping the newest Space Ghost DVD set. And I just watched Lawsuit. And I would like to commend you kids once again for one-of-if-not-the best episodes evar.

Yeah, it's just too bad they couldn't work it out so "Lawsuit" and "Sequel" were on the same DVD set.

Good to hear re: the DVD. We spoke to our producer on SG fairly recently and he had no news on WHT the 4th release. So, yeah, cool. We should get one, I guess, because the CN always treated us decently, unlike, oh, say, Funimation.

Lawsuit is probably our best episode, a lot of things clicked on it and it's the tightest of our narratives. Thinking about it makes me miss SGCTC. And having a career. Anyway, I'm glad it's on a disc for the folks at home to see.
I figured the 4th DVD was canceled.

I've always been partial to "Cookout," myself. As far as I'm concerned, television has never topped Martin Yan "relaxing the chicken" while Space Ghost looks on horrified.

Evan, you missed out on playing up to the myth that matzoh contains the blood of gentile babies. Is it because it's too close to the truth that we use their kidneys for the haroset?

Zev resembles every Orthodox Jew I encounter who has this ferocious benevolence about them. Like, I'm sure 99% of the time he's a decent chap, a mensch, if you will, but he's got a terrifyingly loud laugh, and push some button on him and he WILL go axe murderer on you.

Give me a break here, I only had one page and fit in all I could. It killed me to have to cut the contrived justification for eating humans in the first place, a decidedly non-kosher set-up. Which involved a severely reformed jewish rabbi, a knock on how jews -- and hell, most religions -- often get away with loopholes in order to skirt the tenets of their superstitious, illogical faiths -- y'know, hauling in goys to work the sabbath and automatic sabbath doors and elevators and ovens and that month where Israel sells farmland for a pittance to avoid some biblical horseshit about not farming and having faith in ghost god and shit. Oh, and of course, there would have been hush money.

But I couldn't fit that material in, even if I crammed it into a panel. 12 was the limit, and even I reach a point where I have to give up and get going.

No worries, slugger; it's wickedly hilarious as is. That just where my mind goes to first when Jewish cannibals urban legends are concerned. It's too easy, which is why you took the higher ground. I'm hip, I dig.

If I finish this fucking comic I'm slaving on right now early enough today you just might have a li'l belated Hannukkah present in your hold bag at ND next week.
