June 2009? Nuts to that! The last Gasoline Alley dailies book was August 2007! I can deal with living artists taking their time to create quality comics, especially funny comics, but this stuff is 80 years old, and has been archived, right? I'm sore, but the first three D&Q books were top-notch, so I guess we have to suck it up. Are we supposed to buy these books and read them one strip per day, then? I appreciate the concept, but gosh all fishooks, dammit!

Don't know why I'm so agitated about the delay. I'm so far behind on anything other than comics and slick magazines it's not even funny. I just started reading the April/May 2007 Asimov's Science Fiction this week...

At MOCCA I asked someone at the D&Q table about the delay and I was told a rights issue had cropped up and put the book on hiatus. Work was ongoing, but the rights issue held up the release schedule. Dunno how that backs it up so far on the release schedule, but there's other folks involved and Ware's busy...who knows. It's scheduled. Cool. Stay away from a premature death in the meantime.

Avoid premature death? Might as well ask for someone to un-invent vodka.

In the meantime, I'll enjoy Dark Horse's Herbie book, and Little Urchin Amy or whatever, from IDW.

I'm only about 3/4 of the way through book 3 and I haven't even opened my copy of the Sunday strips, so I guess I can't complain too much. And once I finish those, I still haven't gotten to the Popeye collections either...
